Sublimation dyeing is a method of transferring an image using heat to transition the dye between a solid and a gas state without forming into a liquid during this metamorphosis. The results are that the image will be solid colour and therefore the colour gamut is far greater than your average ink jet printer which only dots colour to make up the image. This makes images more tangible and therefore more desirable as they are vivid and alive once transferred. A sublimation printer can offer over sixteen million different colours which is similar to what you see on colour photographs you get back from the lab.
Here at Smart Tees we use sublimation printed images for our custom printed clothing from our head office in Wales, down in Pembrokeshire.
